Earlier versions worked, but not out of the box for several NetBSD
platforms. Also, that support was for the old a.out format, which
is almost gone from NetBSD now. Lastly, bitrot set in in the NetBSD
bits, as they weren't updated for later versions of gcc.

But, this is about to change, thankfully.
