what i found in Poland (1PLN about 0.23$ don't remember exactly):

(DVD-R) 3.95 GB NASHUA  82,78 (about 20$)
(DVD-RAM) 5,2 GB TDK  138,90 (about 35$)

is it cheap?

4GB DDS-2 tape costs <<10$

and what's the difference between DVD-R and DVD-RAM?
