Hi,

the latest linuxkernels say that ffs and ufs implementations are 
unstable and/or readonly, cannot remember exactly, that was a 
2.4.22 kernel. You will need to compile a linux kernel with ufs and/or 
ffs support at least as module, be shure to check the sources for 
information about stability and/or dangers to the filesystem.
