Actually, I figured it out.  I did not have LKM in my kernel, so once I
compiled that in, vmware started out just fine.

Now if only Windows 200 Setup wouldn't hang on "loading files (Machine
Identification Data)", but that's obivously a hardware/windows issue and
most likely not related to vmware.
