I'm having a problem under 1.5.1b1; the source I snarfed yesterday for 
b2 looks like it has the same problem, but I won't be able to upgrade 
for a day or two; I'd like confirmation before I file a PR.

Anyway -- the -E option to chat isn't being accepted.  A glance at the 
code shows no 'E' in the getopt string.  The same appears to be true in 
1.5R as well.
