Did he even know what NetBSD is? Anyway.. a lot of internal PCI modems
should be covered by the 'com at puc' attachment, like this:

puc0 at pci0 dev 19 function 0: US Robotics (3Com) 3CP5609 PCI 16550 Modem (com)
com3 at puc0 port 0: interrupting at irq 15
com3: ns16550a, working fifo

I think virtually all modems use a 16x50 (or compatible interface), so
the only problem would be if it requires some special initialization.

To summarize: if it's not a winmodem, but a real modem, I think there's
a good chance that it will work, but you can only be sure if you
try it out.
