We have been given Nortel's Extranet Access Client to VPN to our hosting
partners. But it is a Windows only client and would be a hassle to use.
(Not to mention it seems broken).

Can I setup a similar connection with NetBSD as the "client" ? I know
EAC uses udp500/IKE, and IP protocol 50 to communicate. But what
confuses me is the documentation for setting up IPsec assume I'm setting
up both sides, and hence know the IPs to be used.

But the EAC client gets the IP dynamically. I just point it toward the
other side's IP, give a user and pass, as well as a group name and
password and it sets itself up. Is that something home grown, or PPTP or
similar meaning I'm stuck?

Any reply would be appreciated!

Lund
