Hello people,

I recently compiled mysql-server and mysql-client from pkgsrc. I'm getting
an error when I try to connect with my PHP script. Something like:

Warning: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock'
(38) in /www/htdocs/test.php on line 10
Unable to select database

Line 10 of my script reads mysql_pconnect($hostname, $username, $passwd).
I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the PHP part of it. I couldn't
find a mysql.sock in /tmp either. So I did a make reinstall...it still
doesn't work. Does anyone know a solution to this? Is there a more
approppriate mailinglist than netbsd-users, for problems like these (ie
pkgsrc)? Thanks for any help

Cheers
