I've never had to do a ``make includes'' when building a kernel. (I've
seen references to that on other lists, but assumed that it had to do with
rebuilding userland and/or tracking current.)
(I _do_ build custom kernels. I just don't use ``make includes''. (^& I
just config <whatever> && cd ../compile/<whatever> && make clean && make
depends && make.)
