I've got an SS1 with 32 megs of 4 meg simms that I just loaded with
NetBSD/sparc 1.5. I've built and booted a new kernel, and installed
elm and metamail from pkgsrc with no problems.

I tried to install perl 5.6.0 from pkgsrc and it fails with:

        AutoSplitting perl library
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/src/pkgsrc/lang/perl5-base/work/perl-5.6.0:/usr/lib:/usr/pkg/lib:/usr/X11R6/lib:/usr/local/lib ./miniperl -Ilib -e 'use AutoSplit;  autosplit_lib_modules(@ARGV)' lib/*.pm lib/*/*.pm

        Making DynaLoader (static)
Shared object "libperl.so" not found
Warning: No Makefile!
make: don't know how to make config. Stop
make config failed, continuing anyway...
make: don't know how to make all. Stop
*** Error code 2

Stop.
*** Error code 1

*** Error code 1

when I look in /usr/src/pkgsrc/lang/perl5-base/work/perl-5.6.0 I find
that libperl.so is right where it is supposed to be,

I've also built perl 5.6.0 on a SS4 running NetBSD/sparc 1.5ALPHA2 with
no problems.

All I can say at this point is "Huh?".

Anybody else seen this?
