Never mind, then. What I said only applies to pre-1.5 NetBSD-current.
On my system, mac68k/1.4.3, "nm /usr/pkg/lib/libcrypto.so.1.0" shows
an _RSA_eay_public_decrypt, an _RSA_public_decrypt, but no
_RSAPublicDecrypt. What version of openssl do you have? ("pkg_info -e
openssl".) "lynx" isn't supposed to install without openssl-0.9.5a.
