Code 72 is EBADRPC ("RPC struct is bad").
Is our new rpcbind stuff incompatible with netbooting, perchance,
or did the new rpc stuff not make it into the bootloader?

This says ENFILE ("Too many open files on system").
Does the bootloader not know how to close()?
