a little more on this. i tried to set up a new partition, entered a start
cylinder, hit enter so sysinst would fill in the default, and it makes the
partition end on cyl 1023. BIOS only thinks there's 1022 cylinders, and
sysinst is supposed to use those values, yes? what am i missing here?
It seemed to me that sysinst has a 1-off error in the geometry, but I
haven't investigated the code yet. For me it reported a number of
cylinders 1 less than the device probe (and the printed label on the
disk) shows, but the option to change the geometry gave the correct
value as a default.
Not sure what causes it, though.
