What I end up doing is this:
In my .tcshrc file (which is also "sourced" on every tcsh invocation
under my current version, 6.08.00), I have the following:
source $HOME/.alias
Then, in $HOME, I have a file called .alias, which contains all of my
alias definitions. I find this eaiser for managing them, and moving
from machine to machine, where I may want my .tcshrc file different,
or where I may be restricted in the shell I can use.
