Hi,
I'm not here to start a OS or flame war but...
NetBSD would be way easier to install (or maintain) if it had man pages like OpenBSD
and a FAQ similar to the FReeBSD Handbook. I'm actually quite surprised that the FAQ
is so raw, for a O/S that runs on over a dozen architectures. Of course one can't
expect good documentation and "newbie support" from a free volunteer project, but it
would really increase the userbase for NetBSD. I mean, look at it this way... Why is
Linux so popular? It's the users. More users, more developement (more cluebies too)
I've been using the BSD's for a while now, and I am very pleased with the performance
of all of them, though I think each one could profit from the other.
Maybe you guys should form a seperate "FAQ team" (or if there already is one, extend
it) that maintains the FAQs and makes it easier for the newbies.....
Cheerz,
