I heartily endorse "UNIX System Administration Handbook, Second
Edition", by Evi Nemeth, Garth Snyder, Scott Seebass and Trent
R. Hein, 1995, Prentice Hall PTR. It's a few years out of date but
it's still far and away the best single source I've ever found for
information about the care and feeding of a UNIX system. Its primary
virtues are: exhaustiveness, specificity to several types of systems
(Solaris, IRIX, OSF/1, HP-UX, SunOS, and BSD/OS), attention to detail,
and weight sufficient for using it to punish the wicked :-). This
book is on my short list of books that have helped me.

If you were looking for information about terminals in this book you
would find:

terminals: capability databases, config files by vendor, configuring
at login, device files, secure, setting options, smart, Solaris,
special characters, unwedging

Note the special entry for the special hell which is Solaris terminal
administration. The book is thorough!
