We have some support for devices which comply to the USB Mass Storage
spec, so in theory a USB CD-RW that followed that spec should work or
be close to working.

In practice, the only USB CD-RW's I've seen used a proprietary
ATAPI<->USB bridge chip, whose manufacturer (In-System Design,
in-system.com) was uninterested in releasing programming information
except under an NDA.
