I have been having great luck with DHCP and diskless workstations,
however an new issue has arisen.

I want dhcp to assign (randomly) a boot dir/swap to a given diskless ws
without overlap. Till now I have been sharing a common dir among all of
the diskless ws, but the swap also gets shared, which is BAD!!! I want
to at least have swap seperate.

I realize that I can have bootp do this for a specific ws/arp address,
but can dhcp do this without overlap?

I'm thinking no, based on how dhcp works, but I thought I'd check.
