Hi...

* Antti Kantee (pooka@iki.fi) [991125 01:40]:
| top says idle as expected. And after the problem of explaining a load of
| two while the box is doing nothing, there is the problem of explaining a
| load of close to or over six when perhaps playing a mp3, running mutt,
| irc and sup.

If someone is wondering, if there might be a general problem: At least it
does not exist on all i386-systems. My i386-current system shows reasonable
loads. I can't really compare numbers with my "before-ELF-time", because I
didn't pay that much attention to them, but right now I am running the
SETI-client, the distributed.net-client as well as mpg123, not to mention
mutt, cvs, screen, top, ... The current load of my system is around 3.20 for
the last minutes.

Your experience with ten "parallel" builds resulting in a load of 30 isn't
reproducable here either. Perhaps there is a problem with your system?

Bye, Bjoern
