Well, Intel-type chips are pretty darn fast, but as soon as you
throw in floating point they fall far behind. So for your purposes,
I should think that the Alpha is pretty much where it's at. The
forthcoming 1.6 Gz 21364 should pretty much wipe the floor with
anything else out there.
