There's been some talk on the pilot-unix lists from someone who has
written a unix-based palmpilot-desktop suite that includes an address
manager.  I'm not sure if it's been released yet or not, but I can
check it out of you like.

I'm not a gnome or kde person, but I suspect that there's a app from
one of these groups that could do the job.

FWIW I used yrolo before I got my pilot - now I use the pilot
exclusively...
