Hm. If the list isn't serving any vital technical purpose, there'll be no
*need* for folks to use it. They'll simply use it if they want to use it,
which suggests to me that our usual rationalle for not limiting posts to
subscribers wouldn't apply. This ought to pretty much take care of spam.
