I would support a random 'chatter' mailing list as, at present, it seems
that 'current-users' often lapses into that and that's not nearly the 
right forum for general chatter.  In fact, this message is innappropriate
for netbsd-users/current-users...

If a significant number of others concur with this then I'll see if
I can 'make it so'.

Whenever I go down to the bay-area, I try to get together with as many
netbsd folk as possible just to 'say hi' and consume a few beer... It
would probably be appropriate to announce such things on a chatter list.
