Actually, it seems I am on netbsd-users -- I did receive two copies. I
wonder why there's so little traffic on it.....

Well, it did exactly the same thing even though I managed to clear the
SCSI error between tape changes by using restore to check out the
previous tape (which appeared OK).
(BTW, I also had to use "eject /dev/rst0" to get the tape out after dump
said to change volumes. The drive wasn't paying any attention to the
little button on the front, and it had the green light on.)
So, next I'll re-compile and re-install dump from -current and see if
that fixes the stupid multi-tape "master/slave protocol botched" error.
Grrr.... (man I hate exabytes too -- they take forever to do anything)
