Uh... no... 1.3.1 is not 1.2->1.3, but rather, 1.3 + bugfixes (unrelated to
your problem).

I think that the com.c driver as of 1.3 would not work in an otherwise 1.2
kernel, so you're probably out of luck if you dont want to put in some porting
effort... which you probably better safe, and put into the upgrading...
