Is this a known bug, or should I send-pr it?

On my NetBSD-1.3/pmax system, I'll occasionally try to untar a gzipped tar
file, and I get:

gzip: stdout: broken pipe
tar: child returned status 1

But this appears to happen after all the files are done being extracted.
It's just unnerving to get an error from tar.
