Hi,

the .CURDIR variable defined by make(1) is immensely useful for me
when constructing larger projects, but unfortunately the number of
make implementation that support it seems to be limited and I need my
Makefiles to work on other Unix derivates, too.

So I wonder whether anyone if aware of a synonym for .CURDIR that is
understood by GNU make, especially. I browsed through the gmake
documentation and couldn't find any mechanism that would do that for
me.

If GNU make does indeed not have .CURDIR or something similar, does
anybody know a good construct to simulate .CURDIR in portable
Makefiles?
