That's a problem with your 1542CF and more than 16Meg of memory.

1.3 has the workaround for that, you should be able to get the beta at the 
same site where you picked up 1.2.1, if not, try out
ftp.netbsd.org:/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.3_BETA

The 1.3 release is expected to happen on Dec 19th, fwiw.
