Sorry to follow up on my own posting, but this case got even weirder:
I took the include files from the gcc distribution and copied them to
/usr/include/objc. So far so good: The program compiled. But when I
tried to link it, I got a missing symbol error.

So I built the libobjc.a from the gcc distribution and there's a
slight difference in file size:

- -r--r--r-- 1 bin bin 260336 Sep 23 17:53 libobjc.a
- -r--r--r-- 1 bin bin 57462 Sep 15 1996 libobjc_netbsd.a

So obviously, the libobjc.a that comes with NetBSD is incomplete plus
the include files are missing in the standard distribution.

Just out of curiosity: Why is this so? Any comments?
