All,

I have a directory /TEST that is owned by user adw and group sw.
There are several members in group sw. I currently have the permissions
set as chmod 2775. Should it be possible for any member of the group
sw to copy files from one directory to another if the target directory
is owned by sw. If new files are created they will take on the group
permissions but be owned by the user that created the files or the
process that created the files. As for chmod, only root or the owner of
the file can perform this command, right?

Ok, now if I have a subdirectory common in the /TEST tree that is owned
by adw and group sw but has permissions set to 755, will I get the
operation not permitted error when a user attempts to copy files into
the common directory?
