I successfully compiled the gimp version 0.99.9

I think I had to change or comment out a few lines of code, probably
to the detriment of the program's functioning, but it did, eventually,
compile.  This was a while ago, and I didn't bother keeping a record
of changes, sorry.

I could send my NetBSD (1.2) binary of the GIMP to any who care.
