At least in my case, it was because I had never been told that a
netbsd-announce list had ever been created. Here I was thinking I was
subscribed to all the important groups, when a new one comes along
unanounced! ;-) (Well, I'll assume it was announced somewhere, but I
don't remember ever reading about it.)
The only way I found out was when I missed Chris' announcement that he
was leaving core, only to see it in the newsgroups and then see people
discussing it after the fact here.
I'm not bitching. I'm just asking that if an important group is
added, maybe it could be done with a little more fanfare.
