there's been a way to explicitly configure disk <-> SCSI ID mappings
since just a few weeks after the NetBSD project was started.  (i'd
guess that it was in _all_ releases, including 0.8, but i forget the
exact dates.)

If you're misconfiguring your system, that's neither our fault nor our
problem.  8-)
