Received no response on this from netbsd-help, so ...

I am runnning NetBSD 0.9 and X in 8 meg of memory and I seem to
spend all my time swapping, also loads from disk seem to take forever.
I think I remember someone having an alternate (to wd) disk driver?
Is there such a thing ? Where ?

In general, my question is: Is there anything I can do to speed up disk
IO without new hardware (I am running on a notebook) ?

Thanks in advance,

Alan
