a "somewhat generic" cons.c is now in /sys/dev, as is a "somewhat
generic" cons.h.

what that means is that if you're using an hp300-esque cons.c,
you can probably toss your cons.h, move your console declarations from
cons.c into conf.c, and toss your cons.c

there's also some lower-level stuff you should do in drivers which can
be consoles, but send mail to be about that.
