Operating System Engineer
Skipper Wireless Laboratories, Inc. is a new, privately held Silicon Valley 
wireless broadband meshnetwork startup based in San Carlos, California, USA. 
Leveraging the unique relationship with international consumer electronics 
giants, it aims to merge a range of consumer mobile devices with a 
revolutionary patent-pending ad-hoc style network infrastructure. While 
still in stealth mode, the company is rapidly ramping up its product 
development team. Our team has a proven track record in the area of wireless 
communications and mobile systems.

We are seeking an experienced UNIX operating systems engineer who will be 
responsible for supporting the software development group and providing the 
necessary kernels for the development platform.  The OS engineer will:

Work closely with the software group to deliver the required low level OS 
drivers.
Be comfortable building OS Kernels and optimising for performance on new 
hardware platforms.
Have knowledge of how to build board support packages.
Write system tests to exercise and verify reliable OS operation.

Required:  a strong combination of the following experience

Detailed low level experience with NetBSD and FreeBSD.
Minimum 3 years experience NetBSD and FreeBSD OS..
Proven record of performance while meeting aggressive schedules.
Working knowledge of writing low level drivers for Ethernet and other 
network interfaces..
Experience with real-time protocol implementation on an embedded processor 
is essential, especially using C or C++.
Experience working with and supporting Software Engineers using the OS for 
development.
Good communications and presentation skills and ability to work well in a 
team.
Strong documentation skills.
