Subject: cu: unknown host... problem - partial solution

Using a screwdriver to securely fasten the modem cable to the computer 
and the modem solved the connection failure problem. Just
pressing the cable into the serial port doesn't always work:(

I still haven't solved the 'cu:unknown host...' message. I suspect that 
the /etc/remote file may have something to do with it.
