Just a "me too" in that I've had similar spontaneous reboots on my -current
amd64 box, using ulpt via lpr/lpd to my Brother HN1650 printer.

I'm a bad person, and didn't file a bug report, or even note what was
printed when it rebooted. :-/ Nonetheless, I see the same behavior, and
have gone back to using parallel.

Regarding printing >1 job and having it get lost, I'm not sure this is
really a cups issue. I see similar things with lpd if I print a number of
large items. They will frequently leave the lpq, but not come out of the
printer. Printing them individually (that is, waiting for the printer to
complete one job before spooling the next) always works. I didn't bother to
track that down either.

Subject: Computer crashes when printing with CUPS on Samsung ML-1610
USB-printer

Hi!

I just had my NetBSD-box boot several times in row when I tried to print
with CUPS onto my ML-1610 USB-printer (b/w laser).

I was printing a two page document from a Windows XP computer. I printed
one page at a time for manual duplex printing. The server crashed short
while after the the second page was sent to the print server, not printing
anything.

This happened consistently. When the computer booted after the crash, the
print job was finished.

Also, on a related note, many times the printer would only print one print
job or none, if the printer had been idle for some time. It would warm up
the printer but nothing would be printed, yet CUPS would show the job as
completed. Any ideas on this either?

Below I have copied some excerpts from my logs. These are from the first
crash, I had three in total. The latter job (21:04:**) is the one, which
crashed the computer.
