Actually booting single user didn't work for me because /etc is in the
root filesystem and it is read-only when I boot single user using boot
-s hd0a:netbsd. Is there a way to boot in single user mode and also
write to the root filesystem? Anyway, I added the /etc/pam.d files using
a boot floppies, and then I was able to login and now I have a working
3.0 system! Thanks.
