What I ended up doing.
Boot NetBSD from boot manager ( GAG http://gag.sourceforge.net/ )
mount -w /dev/wd1a / ( because it was in read-only mode I couldn't edit fil=
es )
edit /etc/fstab, changing wd0 to wd1
reboot
All is fine again!
