Yes, it is possible (assuming your BIOS can boot from it and
NetBSD is compatible with it). Sysinst can even install to a USB
memory thingy. However, my only machine that can boot from USB
refuses to get to the boot(8) phase, presumably due to some CHS-
related nonsense. YMMV.
