Hi,
I try to install a Sony AIT-2 ATAPI Tape drive on netbsd 2.0.2 (amd64). The
drive is listed during startup.

atapibus1 at atabus3: 2 targets
st0 at atapibus1 drive 0: <SONY SDX-560V, 0001047770, 0100> tape removable
st0: density code 0, 1024-byte blocks, write-enabled
st0: 32-bit data port
st0: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 5 (Ultra/100)
st0(viaide1:1:0): using PIO mode 4, Ultra-DMA mode 5 (Ultra/100) (using DMA
data transfers)

But I always get this warning:

st0: WARNING: cannot revert to default density

mt -f /dev/st0 status gives the following output:

SCSI tape drive, residual=0
ds=3<Mounted>
er=0
blocksize: 1024 (0, 0, 0, 0)
density: 0 (0, 0, 0, 0)
current file number: 0
current block number: 0

I can write on the tape drive with tar, but if I try to restore from the
tape only two or three files are restored.

Does anybody knows what I can do?

Thanks in advance

Arne
