One thing I forgot to write in the first mail:
Hardware is ISA (VLB). So maybe the conf-file is correct
and workes on PCI (-ide), otherwise many should have noticed.
(on macppc the conf-file looks similar 'atapibus* at atapi?'
and there it works but it is PCI-hardware, i've no x86 with
pci at hand to check here.

But it should work on ISA as well, as it did in the past.
