Hello all,

Sometime back, I had made a posting, something like
"Configuring IPv4 NIC" or something like that....

Thanks to help received from this mailing list, I have
managed to setup all the necessary files needed to
bring up the NIC and route it properly i.e. -

/etc/ifconfig.rtk0
/etc/hosts
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/myname
/etc/mygate

Now the problem is - after all these files have been
set (correctly), the NIC refuses to boot (i.e. it does
not poweup) !

Is there any particular thing I need to do (more) ?

here are all the files

+---[ ifconfig.rtk0 ]-------------------------
#ifconfig configuration for RealTek (nic0)
inet 10.10.245.96 netmask 255.255.255.0 media
100BaseTX
+---------------------------------------------

+---[ /etc/hosts ] ---------------------
# default part is omitted here
10.10.245.96 skanda.in skanda
+---------------------------------------

+---[ /etc/myname ]----------------------
skanda.in
+----------------------------------------

+---[/etc/mygate]-----------------------------
10.10.245.1
+---------------------------------------------

+---[/etc/resolv.conf]------------------------
nameserver 202.144.115.4
nameserver 202.144.66.6
+---------------------------------------------

as said before on boot the Nic is detected as rtk0
(Realtek 8139 10/100 NIC)
THat's it.

THanks :)
RSK
