Hi, I have a proxim orinoco gold classic wireless card; it is recognized
(when plugging/unplugging) fine by the GENERIC-laptop kernel's wi(4)
driver on my IBM 560E thinkpad, a pentium 166 machine (old, i know). I
can connect to my 802.11b linksys base station just fine. However, when
i do "wiconfig wi0 -m 00:11:22:33:44:55", it gives me the error:
  "wiconfig SIOCSWAVELAN: invalid argument".
(apparently netbsd's ifconfig can't set the "ether option", which is why
I'm using wiconfig). What am I doing wrong here? Upon error nothing is
appended to dmesg, nor is there a kernel message to the console. Could
it be the Orinoco is incapable of changing MAC addresses? Shall I try a
Prism II card? (a local store has a DWL 650 on sale...)
thanks,
Tom Nakamura
p.s. sorry if this is the inappropriate list.
