Dumb ^x vs ^c in pine... sorry.

Anyway, I'm trying to build fetchmail and I keep getting this:

make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/fetchmail-6.2.0/intl'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `libintl.@l@a', needed by `all-yes'.
Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/fetchmail-6.2.0/intl'
make: *** [@INTLDEPS@] Error 2

BSD's make wouldn't even get me through the configure stage, so I switched
to GNU's make which gets me through configure, but make bombs with the
message you see above. Fetchmail seems to build pretty cleanly on my
linux box, but not on my netbsd box. Could someone give me a pointer or
some info to help me figure this out?

thanks,
Scott
