I am curious whether anyone has succeeded in either compiling Darwin
Streaming Server for NetBSD (1.6.1, i386), or failing that, whether
anyone has succeeded in running the Linux or FreeBSD binaries of that
server on NetBSD. I have tried and failed both at compiling it for
netbsd and running it under emulation.
I end up with a billion errors whenever I try to compile the source for
NetBSD, and attempts to run the provided Linux binary under
linux_compat with the suse packages installed results in the following
error:
./DarwinStreamingServer: error while loading shared libraries:
libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
Since I do not have access to a linux box with the appropriate
libraries, nor have I been able to find them in a package that I can
open, I feel stuck here.
Has anyone out there made any headway with the Darwin Streaming Server
on NetBSD?
Thanks.

Apple's "Darwin Streaming Server" is available here:

Here's someone who succeeded in compiling it for FreeBSD:

A search of the archives turns up a couple of relevant posts. I tried
emailing the authors but their email addresses are no longer
functional.
