I'm using NetBSD 1.6.1 and I installed KDE3 from
/usr/pkgsrc/meta-pkgs/kde3.

Here's what I get when I start KDE: (questions will follow)

turingmachine: {3} startkde
startkde: Starting up...

I haven't been able to find enough information to be able to even
understand most of this.

The QPixmap thing occurs before the KDE splash screen, and the message
stops once KDE is starting up, I think. Should I be concerned about
it?

I found /usr/pkg/lib/kde3/kcm_keyboard.a, but... apparently,
KLibLoader up there isn't finding it. Is there a path I should set?
I'm getting some really strange keyboard problems under KDE.

I normally run KDE is a non-root user. /tmp/.ICE-unix seems to keep
going back to ownership of my non-root account after I change it to
root. Can I stop it? Should I worry about it?

Surely KDE isn't suggesting that I just run as root all of the time?
Can I make the synthesizer run with the proper priority without doing
that, and how?

Altogether, I feel like I'm missing something, since I'm not trying to
do anything unusual, and stuff seems broken. Did I miss some big,
important MESSAGES or some such? I had screen log it, took a glance
at them, and didn't see anything I thought I needed to change.
