Hi Gan and J,

After many hours of waiting, it finally finished!!
But, when I replaced the new kernel with the old one,
none of the error messages changed during the boot. I
am starting to wonder if there is something physically
wrong with some piece of hardware.

Also, for some reason now, I can't seem to reboot.
After it syncs the disks, the screen goes black and
nothing happens. Does anyone know what could be the
problem?

Thanks for the help!
