Hi,

I've just installed kde3.1.4 on my machine (NetBSD1.6ZE, i386), and all is
fine except i cant get any sound.

My sound card shows up as

	audio0 at auich0: full duplex, independent
	auich0 at pci0 dev 2 function 7: SiS 7012 AC-97 Audio

This is configured and has been tested by playing a .au file through dev/sound
and dev/audio both were succesfull.

When kde tries to start the arts server it gets the following error

	Sound server fatal error:
	AudioSubSystem::handleIO: write failed
	len = 3860, can_write = 4096, errno = 17 (File exists)
	This might be a sound hardware/driver specific problem (see aRts FAQ)

i tried running artsd from the command line and got the following

	unix_connect: can't connect to server
	(unix:/tmp/mcop-mark/loki_coris_org_uk-64fc-3facf817)
	There are already artsd objects registered, looking if they are active...
	... cleaned 5 unused mcop global references.

	unix_connect: can't connect to server
	(unix:/tmp/mcop-mark/loki_coris_org_uk-64fc-3facf817)
	(The previous message was repeated 5 times.)
	AudioSubSystem::handleIO: write failed
	len = 964, can_write = 1024, errno = 17 (File exists)
	This might be a sound hardware/driver specific problem (see aRts FAQ)

any idea as to what is happening?

Do i need to configure my card/arts more?

Thanks in advance.

Mark
